Two Paterson Firefighters Assaulted By Patient

PATERSON, N.J. -- Two Paterson firemen who were working as EMTs were assaulted Thursday when the man they were treating suddenly work up and started punching them, Northjersey.com reported

The firefighters had been dispatched on a report of an unconscious person.

They had been dispatched to 19 Walker St. early in the morning on a report of someone unconscious. While they were treating the patient in the back of an ambulance, he assaulted both men, the story said.

The patient was subdued and handcuffed to the stretcher, and all three were transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital where the firefighters were treated for cuts and bruises. The patient’s condition is unknown, according to Northjersey.com.
